Last week of Nov..

is just filled with more dorama and J-Pop. But I’m glad I completed 2 more dramas =)

I watched Hotaru no Hikari mainly because Ayase Haruka and Fujiki Naohito was inside, hehe. Romantic comedy drama with a simple storyline, quite a light-hearted one for me. Background-wise, its just revolving around lives of normal office workers but I guess its simplicity + comical parts makes it nice.

Beautiful Life was something I expected more of. But I didn’t really like it as much as I hoped I would. Takuya Kimura’s usual cool-ness didn’t seem to fit into this love story that well. Though the last 2 or 3 episodes were slightly better, the front few wasn’t that interesting. The ending, though expected, wasn’t as touching as some other dramas I’ve watched.

I simply love BoA’s latest single, Lose Your Mind. The tune is quite addictive in some sense. I don’t know how much time I have looped them on my computer =)

mihimaru GT never fails to bring light-hearted music too. Their recent double A-side, I Should Be So Lucky / Ai Kotoba, features 2 different styles. The former one being their usual urban-pop style with very distinct upbeat and fun tune, while the latter one being a simple love pop.

Will be writing something about both singles soon =D

Nevertheless, other recent singles from Erika, Mai Kuraki and the brilliant green are pretty well done too.

Sub-Urban

Sometimes, its really good to go to sub-urban places in Singapore, like Choa Chu Kang or Lim Chu Kang where the majority of the farms are.

Its really quiet and serene there and you can visit those vegetable or animal farms. Or have lunch at a golf course though you are not playing golf =)

Though nice farmstays or large patches of lush greenery can’t be found in Singapore..

Kuma-chan going to work

Haha. Who would have thought Hikaru-san to be wearing a full bear-costume and entering her workplace?

Watch the 2 min video here at her official blog. And her translated response of the video here. =)

But the video will be taken down on Dec 20 =(

It must have taken quite some effort though.

Hero!

Hero poster

ヒロの映画はすごいね!

Watched Hero yesterday and I thought it was a great one =D

Storyline wise, I guess it’s focused on Kuryu & Amamiya’s romance, which isn’t really focused on in the TV series. Solving-crime part seemed a bit easy though, they just went to Korea to find an evidence and came back. Nevertheless, I still loved the minute but significant parts that are shown again in the movie, like how Kuryu loves TV shopping, the bar that sells almost anything, the linkage back to Kuryu’s time in Yamaguchi, the characteristics of his colleagues, etc. Not to forget the parts where Kuryu says all those cool stuff in the courtroom and how he solved those crimes. I guess that’s the reason why many people loved Hero (including me) up till today.

The ending was great and but sort of expected at the last few minutes =) And I hope there will be a continuation! (since not everything is wrapped up as of the end of the movie)

Gosh, if there was only stuff like multi-language translator gadget with speech recognition, or Korean food in a bar.. Haha.

Another week..

1 more week till the end of November, aren’t we?

After reading some reviews, I’m definitely going to watch Hero later today. I hope it will be something special though =)

Another dorama down =D

Classical music + Comedy + Romance = Nodame Cantabile <3

Gosh, I didn’t thought it would work out this well. Adapted from a manga, this dorama is quite different from the previous ones I saw, mainly because of its characters and the comedy elements in it. It’s like watching a semi-anime kind of show.

Female lead Ueno Juri was super kawaii in the show, while male lead Tamaki Hiroshi acted pretty cool. The other characters are not bad too, though a bit anime-like with their in-show personalities. Nevertheless, other than certain comical moments, there are serious parts (like those during orchestra performances). I’m not really a fan of classical music, but it sounded nice in the drama.

Can’t wait for its special episode next January!

=( BoA is releasing her next single exactly a week before my birthday. Her latest A-side, Lose Your Mind, is quite mind-blowing, something really dance-like though short in length (3 min+). But nevertheless, its something different compared to her previous singles. And the B-side, Smile Again, is a ballad. The PV is on Imeem even before Youtube has it O.o

But I don’t know why I can’t embed it here so I’ll just post the link here.

More drama watching…

As usual, I’ve only been watching doramas for the past few days. 3 romance dramas in a row =)

Tokyo Friends (starring Ai Otsuka) was definitely something short — 5 episodes and a movie. But it was pretty normal for me, about problems surrounding these newly made friends and also romance. The movie wasn’t very special too, just an extension of the original drama. Plus some characters were pretty odd, haha.

Tatta Hitotsu no Koi (starring Ayase Haruka, Kamenashi Kazuya and Toda Erika) would be better. It started out pretty well but turned out not as exciting after all. I thought it was going to be something like Sekai no Chuusin de, Ai wo Sakebu, but its just another normal love story. But the artistes inside here are those of my favourite few =)

Proposal Daikasuken (starring Nagasawa Masami and Yamashita Tomohisa) is definitely the best out of the 3. I liked the idea of mixing time-travel with romance, which is quite a novel idea. Nevertheless, the love story inside was pretty touching. Certain episodes are very touching and the storyline just makes you feel like watching the next episode as soon as possible. Though what I didn’t like was the slip-shot ending =( But overall, I still loved this drama.

Perhaps should try a different genre now..

Hero Special Episode was aired on Channel U yesterday night. A chinese-dubbed one though, so it didn’t turn out nice for me =/ But it just reminds me to watch the upcoming movie, I hope it will turn out nice =)

OB Australia — Daily review & Personal reflection

Click on the picture to view photos taken by Mr Paul Ho (and the last few by myself) throughout the camp.

Date: 1 – 10 November 2007
Venue: Walpole, Australia

One of the most challenging yet rewarding camp for me. The 1st time I set off for another country myself, with some friends (and those not made yet). We left Singapore at around 1.10am and reached Perth at around 7am. Gosh, a totally different weather — cold, dry but I’ve experienced it before anyway. I was definitely tired out after the camp (my leg still hurts now), but I guess its all a good experience for me.

Read on for daily reviews.

Sidenote: I spent 2 hours writing this =D

Retail therapy?

It’s the 5th day after OB Australia and I’m still struggling to find something to do during the holidays (other than just watching dramas). I’ve played pool and bowling for the past few days, but those were just temporary. And whenever I lack something to do, I feel seriously tired, like I am now..

I’m trying very hard to find something meaningful to do during the holidays.

And talking about buying stuff. I have so much stuff that I want to buy, yet I have so many reasons not to buy them.

  • Headset

I’ve got 1 when I bought the Acer PC, but the microphone doesn’t work. But even if I bought a good one, do I really use it often?

  • Laptop

I just realised buying a PC is bothersome. You have to install so many stuff when you can get all in a laptop. But my PC is not even 1 year old yet, how am I going to change?

  • Chinese albums

I really want to support some of the C-Pop singers but I will only buy those with MVs. And they just take months after the original songs-only release to appear in stores. By that time, I would already have lost interest in the songs..

  • Japanese albums

Hello? The J-Pop scene is not only BoA and Ayumi. Music stores here either don’t have much variety or they take months to stock the latest releases. I would have gotten hold of those songs by the tiem they reach.

  • MP3

Creative ZEN looks cool, but expensive and I don’t know whether videos would look cool on it. Plus I’m not those that watch videos while on the move.

So in the end, I don’t buy anything. And I feel really down.
