Went to watch Vexille today with Yun Heng and Xiang Quan at The Cathay, though we had to enter these mini theatre called the PictureHouse where you can’t brink drinks or food. Lol. I still brought a bottle of milkshake though..
Pretty nice animation there. Though the plot, like some reviews mentioned, wasn’t as good. The movie started off with some action, which was cool, but it toned down later and it gets a little boring. The climax wasn’t built up that well but the final few scenes were great though. Overall still a great animation movie, but lacking a little in plot.
That’s all for the most anticipated CG-anime movie of the year =)
But it was a great year though — 1.00, great project, J-Pop and Doramas =)
The much-awaited Orientation Group list is out too — I’m in Group 16 with 5 more classmates. How lucky can I be, haha..
Pretty much trying to finish up the current drama I’m watching these few days, already my 13th drama this holiday =P
Plus I’m configuring some programs now, so that I will be able to start something new next year — Editing subtitles and burn them into DVDs together with their raw videos. A nice way to spend my time I guess.
Will also be watching Vexille next Monday at The Cathay, since it is the only place to watch this movie anyway. Been waiting for months to watch this, so I hope it will be nice and a great watch for the New Year’s Eve =D
I’m going to touch academic stuff some time soon after all, after 2 months of slacking, since I’ve got my SSEF 2008 research report to submit by 7th January. Arrrgghhh…
Watched The Warlords on Christmas Eve — my 1st official NC16 movie entry =P Wouldn’t say its extremely nice, but it’s worth a watch, since there are 3 good male actors there. Even though its a war story, there are not much fighting scenes. Much more is focused on the characters though, like Letters from Iwo Jima. Its more like a tragic story after all =)
Christmas wasn’t anything special for me. Played 2 hours of badminton in the morning, watched an episode of drama, and read I-Weekly in Popular Bookstore in IMM.
And I realised the only section I read fully in the magazine would be the Japanese/Korean section — they had a good article this week. And I would just skim through the rest of the articles..
Ahh! And 阿沁 proposed to Faye on Christmas =) More info here. Gosh, and I love F.I.R.’s blog.

Smile again
LOSE YOUR MIND (Instrumental)
Smile again (Instrumental)
This is BoA’s 25th Single, released on December 12, 2007 and reached #6 on Oricon’s Weekly Charts. This is also her 3rd single, after her album Made in Twenty (20).
1. LOSE YOUR MIND feat. Yutaka Furukawa from DOPING PANDA
Yep, you either like or hate this song. To put it simple, a dance song with much electric guitar chords. What I liked was its catchy chorus mixed with a very nice electric guitar background, provided by Yukata Furukawa.
However, it is a pretty short song — only a little longer than 3 minutes. But it would definitely be worthwhile to put it on loop. I looped it for at least 20 times =)
Not to forget the great dance she puts off in the Promotional Video.
Overall comment: Something new and funky, but sounds better if looped on your media player
Rating:
2. Smile Again
This single with another love ballad, which BoA often sings. Background music this time is relatively simple and you would be able to listen to BoA’s vocals better. Even though her vocals are just as good, it didn’t make an impact as compared to Winter Love.
Overall comment: Shouldn’t miss this if you wish to listen to BoA’s great vocals
I really loved the A-side here, especially if you see it on the PV. Haven’t listen to such addictive song from BoA for quite some time I guess. But the B-side here isn’t one that I really liked, because it is relatively simple.
Nevertheless, it was great to listen something new from BoA.
Oh ya, and she will be releasing her new album next February. Definitely won’t miss out on this one =)

Date: 19 December 2007
Venue: Sentosa
Basically a short trip to Sentosa with my family for a day to celebrate my birthday =) Haven’t been there for quite some time, so there was quite a lot of new stuff for me to try out. But it was pretty gloomy that day, though it never rained.
Karei-Naru Ichizoku is like a total tragedy drama haha. Revolved around this rich family and also father-son hate story, set in the period of financial restructuring in Japan. Pretty focused on the family itself but also much involved in the economy of Japan at that time.
But other than the background, there were quite a lot of characters, which made it a little confusing for me at the start. The usual drama twist still exists but I thought the ending wasn’t properly wrapped up.
Thanks to recommendations, I also watched Haken no Hinkaku. To put it simple, its a workplace + comedy drama. Every episode has its emotional part which I liked. Definitely a light-hearted one to watch =)
I really hoped I lead a life like that of the main character here..
Lastly, the popular hit — Hanazakari no Kimitachi e. One of the best from the High School genre definitely, together with comedy and a little romance. I guessed the other students, other than the main cast, were also portrayed pretty well. Though a comedy, the emotional parts (those that make you feel like crying) are there too, especially the last part of the whole drama =’(
I also loved the theme songs =) But I have no plans to watch the Taiwan version — 花樣少年少女, haha.
Gosh, finally the time when I can’t play pool or watch NC16 movies ends tomorrow..
After missing out on the original gathering, I went with some primary school friends to watch Alvin and the Chipmunks yesterday at Cathay Cineleisure. 1st time I’ve been there, haha. I love the seats there =)
But anyway, back to the movie. Quite a light-hearted comedy. Not my type of movie but it was ok though. The part I could not forget was how “Watashi wa Alvin desu” is recognised as Spanish, but I guess it meant as a joke lol.
Then we wanted to go to the 8th floor to play pool. But I was 2 days away from 16 and they don’t allow me in =( Gahh, I felt like saying sorry 100 times.. Nevertheless, we managed to play somewhere, though I really played off my standard. It was still a fun day after all =)
Hopefully I can finish watching Hana Kimi before my birthday.. or maybe not…
Dexter and Collin, thanks a lot for this polar bear!! =D And of course the mini-cake.
I was pretty shocked at that moment though, for a boy who hasn’t ate his own birthday cake for years. Lol.
We also went to watch The Golden Compass, but it wasn’t as good as expected. Even Narnia was better than it in my opinion. It just lacked the “magnificent” and “impressive” factor for an epic story.
I will also be having a day at Sentosa on my birthday next Wednesday. Time to try out the new stuff there, like the Sentosa Luge and Skyride thingy =) I haven’t been to Sentosa for years..
And right at this time, I have decided to close my “fighterwins” Google account, so stuff related like Picasa album and Blogspot all will be gone =/ I will deal with my MSN sometime soon too.
But this means that all email should be directed to aaron.ng91@gmail.com
