Group Photos

I’m sure many are glad to see 何老师 again today, especially at College side in the afternoon.

She’s like one of the most popular Chinese teacher out there in High School lah. Back from Australia for a short holiday, and heard that she’s coming back again this Christmas =D 4I & J people were just crowding in slowly to talk to her in that hour or so, not to forget cam-whoring, haha.

And I don’t know why, but I just like group photos more than photos of myself now. Weird, hurh =) Perhaps its the revival of memories everytime I view the photos, since every one of them signifies an event I’ve been through.

So I took some time off and placed all the group photos I had here, in my Picasa Web Album.

*Coughs*

These few days were pretty bad for me — non-stop coughing. Especially at nite when I can be lying on my bed coughing for an hour before actually getting to sleep.

I actually coughed so badly this morning that I didn’t feel like going to school. So I stayed at home the whole day, and I felt seriously bored =(

But I’ve got a MC from PE for a week =D

Let’s just hope I get well soon before Chinese New Year. I don’t want to miss the fun..

Senior treat Junior @ Marche, Vivocity

07/08 S6A

Date: 26 January 2008
Venue: Marche, Vivocity

The problem of living far away

Met Jon Tay, Hu Yuan, Kai Hui at Jurong East MRT before leaving for HarbourFront together. I think we left our houses the earliest, but we reached there the latest =(

Dinner @ Marche

Pretty cool and expensive restaurant for a gathering =) But since I don’t have to pay, I can’t say much about it, haha. The food there is above-average I would say, but due to every person’s budget of $15, most couldn’t eat much. At least I’ve got some crepe, baby potatoes, mini-pizza, cake and a drink. I guess me and Hu Yuan ate quite a lot with our $30, and people were asking us whether we exceeded the budget (We seriously didn’t!).

After-dinner games

Definitely more fun than in the restaurant, but we were stoning at times when trying to think of games.. Like how we played Polar Bear and stopped after 1 or 2 nights.

The most fun was still the “Honey, I love you. Can you give me a smile?” game. Dumb, but funny =D Basically, the person in the circle has to go say that to someone, and if the someone laughs when replying “I can’t give you a smile”, he/she loses. Natural targets of this game belonged to Louis and Huimin.

Forfeit? Ask a random passerby whether they are compatible =P

The peak started with the Elope game, where casualty rates increase all of a sudden. And it ended when I bumped into Louis, and his pants split =(

Most people started to leave after the game sadly, leaving a few of us playing Taiti. Kind Wai Min and other girls went to help Louis sew his pants.

We eventually left Vivo at around 11pm, which is pretty early for some (but considered late for me =P)

Ending off this post with more pics here by Wai Min!

Reality in check

I mean, if you’re a JC1 student and you have a blog, you would definitely blog about this.

Hard work finally paid off on Thursday — I’ve got my A1 for Higher Chinese =D I’m glad our cohort did much better this year, and a lot of people has gotten an A too. At least most people in 4J are contented with their results, especially people like Collin, Eliseus, Jon Soh, etc.

While I’m quite contented, on the other end, there are people who aren’t really happy at all.

Its a pretty contradicting day for me. Like this (quoted from Eldwin’s blog) — People rejoice over good results while others emo over theirs. It’s weird when you see your friend not getting their own ideal grades and you can’t help but feel sad and not know what to do.

IP students should really be glad — You don’t have to get a 6 point to stay. While many people start supporting and cheering for those who didn’t really do well in appealing, the reality is: its hard even with a 1 or 2 point deviation.

Which brings me to another point: If the end-product of IP is still scoring distinctions in A-levels, IP itself wouldn’t work for many, since we don’t have the O-levels to start practising with. Piling all the mugging thoughts at the last 2 years may work, or may not.

The official timetable has started. I’m trying to get use to it though.

And there are like so many deadlines to meet! Econs project, Valentines Day stall preparation, Chinese New Year class stall..

Coupled with serious cough and sore throat, just after recovering from the fever during Orientation week.

I have to decide on a new handphone next week, but I’m nowhere near a touch-screen handphone, not even mentioning a legal iPhone. So I guess I have to settle with Nokia 6500 Slide for the moment. Zzzz, my 1st wishlist item broken.. =’(

And there’s a Senior treat Junior dinner at Vivocity later =D

Blogskin + spammed J-Pop releases

I thought I was going to be on a indefinite hiatus from designing and I turned out designing a blog skin for my class blog… after all the boring tutorials on Sunday. Clocked 5 hours in total — designing and coding =)

I personally think its one of my best designs, hehe =D

Went for Ne2twork today with Adrian and met some other people there. And guess what, in less than an hour, I’m already part of the Preparation Committee for the upcoming Valentine’s Day stall to be set up. Basically in charge of sourcing the cheapest price out there for our products..

I hope it’s gonna be cool.. And going to try out Recre Badminton tomorrow =)

And Marvin with triple science combination is trying out 5 CCAs..

Not to forget more J-Pop! January and February is packed with quite a lot of releases from my favourite few artistes

Heart Station / Stay Gold by Utada Hikaru! — Loved it cas she just maintains that futuristic tune and nice groove in her songs

diverge by mihimaru GT — Another ballad after quite some time, though I didn’t really love it. They are still better at funky tunes =) Nevertheles, my favourite song from them is still a ballad 0.0

Ash Like Snow by The Brilliant Green — Sounds pretty nice and rockish..

Namidairo by Yui — Her 1st song with a Japanese name.. Ironic haha. Nice ballad and she finally returned to a acoustic tune in this one.

Plus I’m recently addicted to Every Little Thing’s past ballads and they releasing another single in February.

Though I haven’t gotten any previews of melody.’s latest single..

Album release? BoA (must buy) and Yuna Ito!

Gosh, how many of my favourite few singers have I named in just this post..

Tutorials

I guess many people are struggling with it now =(

Maths is ok, but not Chemistry and Physics…

Tutorials aside, this week ended off pretty ok.

I tried out EC3 last Wednesday, and I just realised I’m so weak at programming, haha. I guess I haven’t touch programming for like 2 years, and the seniors tried to teach me how to program Connect 5 using Javascript in like an hour..

Wanted to try out Photography on Friday but in the end I decided to try out Ne2twork this week, together with Recreational badminton =) Let’s see whether this will work for me..

And I’ve created a class blog — 08s6a.blogspot.com

Let’s hope it won’t become a dead one in like a months time..

I really hope it would be an active one, seeing so many class blogs popping up this weekend.

Ayumi Hamasaki – GUILTY

GUILTY album

Yay! Finally bought Ayumi’s latest album =)

Comes with a free poster as usual, though I have nowhere to place it in my room, other than my cupboard, haha.

Not to forget lots of Music Videos + “Making of” videos available in the DVD

Tracklist:

  1. Mirror
  2. (don’t) Leave me alone
  3. talkin’ 2 myself
  4. decision
  5. GUILTY
  6. fated
  7. Together When…
  8. Marionette -prelude-
  9. Marionette
  10. The Judgement Day
  11. glitter
  12. MY ALL
  13. reBiRTH
  14. untitled ~for her~

* Bold ones are my favourite songs in this album

Mini-review

(don’t) Leave me alone (Featured song)

Another of Ayumi’s usual rock song with pretty much electronic guitar

talkin’ 2 myself / decision (Single)

Both songs have similar music arrangements — starting out with piano and the rough drums and guitar just kick in straight. Rock songs too, but definitely pack more punch in the chorus. Imagine singing talkin’ 2 myself chorus..

Together When.. (Digital Single)

My favourite song in this album =) Simply love ballads.

It may sound normal at first but the chorus builds up pretty well with an orchestral background. This song packs much emotions too, which is why I love this song..

Marionette (Featured song)

Hehe, one with a creepy intro and video =)

A ballad with a confronting & loud chorus, which makes the chorus very distinct from the starting and ending parts.

MY ALL

A happy and upbeat song like glitter, though not as cheesy.

untitled ~for her~

Like Together When…, soft intro with a loud chorus. But the chorus here isn’t as emotional. Nevertheless, another great ballad addition to this album.

Final Comments

Definitely a great album to start off the year =D

Most of my favourite songs here are still the singles released previously. Featured songs on this album are also pretty good in quality. However, there are still quite a number of songs here I didn’t really like.

Human Tetris (& more)

The title says it all.

Its pretty cool since quite a lot of effort has to be made to produce this. Frame by frame.. Ouch..

More similar videos from this guy here.

1st 2 days of JC

Orientation has ended and its lectures & more lectures this week..

A really different feeling as compared to last year.. Now its pretty much mugging after lectures at class bench or library.

It wouldn’t say I’m used to such school life now — I’m those kind who likes to stay at home and do homework, not in school =/

Like how I managed to complete 5 maths questions, given 5 hours after the only lecture today. I was sitting with Jingwei and Dexter at the OAC Bench, and it was ok at first. Then, more boys and girls just came to join in the conversation and we started talking non-stop, haha. Not that I’m against it, but I just can’t complete much =(

Its time for me to learn how to study in a noisy environment though =)

Yay! My angel has finally written to me! Was feeling bored yesterday night so I’ve written 2 letters (1 for angel, 1 for my mortal) and placed it in the box today. And guess what — my angel replied in the afternoon with some sweets =D

So I guess I have to write more tonight..

And I’ve decided to join Infocomm Society aka EC3 and Recreational Badminton for now. Wed and Fri for EC3, Saturday for badminton fun =)

I’ve never been so enthusiastic about CCAs before, but I hope it will last =)

Stabilized

If you’ve been checking out the pages (not posts) in my blog, you would have realised that I’ve been changing its content very often over the past few months. But I guess I’ll leave the content there for now, unless I’ve got something else I want to add. Though I’ll be constantly updating certain sections =)

Just added a more detailed wishlist on my Profile page too.

I’ve got no ideas for a banner yet though =(
