I’m feeling better now..

Yep, I hope I’ll be fine for as long as possible =) Lack of sleep makes me fed-up..

Oh yes, I finally got my MicroSDs from Sherwyn today, which was pretty much overdue. But thanks anyway =D

Originally stayed on after school to collect Hwa Pheng’s Maths tutorial 5B to copy, but in the end nobody knew where it went =( Luckily, Wai Min returned for Huang Cheng and I got a free sweet mango drink from her, haha. Hmm, and she pasted something on the class bench for everybody to see =)

And I still hate tagboards, because the messages will never stay after the newer 100 are posted.. (not like anybody will tag my board).

Ok, I’ve got to move on with my Physics take-home retest (which is the 1st I’ve ever encountered) and edit my SSEF poster..

I’ve still gotta work hard and move on!!

Craze

I seriously didn’t know what I was thinking over the weekends because I was slacking more than I should.. Camping on class blog, watching more dramas and more to come..

I’m still not back into the serious mode yet, after the holidays and orientation. To put it simple, I can’t concentrate on what I should do now.

And I’m blogging now because I can’t start doing my tutorials. Guess what, SSEF is coming in a week’s time..

Orientation 2

That aside, Orientation 2 and Post-Orientation Party wasn’t much of a blast. I didn’t really look forward to it either, because I’m really tired after all the orientation stuff. But at least the slippery slope was fun =)

It was sad to see a few good friends made over the past 2 months leaving, like Waimin, Runze, Jun Long, Edmund and Zheng Wei. Though there were new classmates, I haven’t really talked to them much, but its just a matter of time after all.

Don’t really have much to say for today — I’m feeling pretty fed-up for no reason, so I couldn’t pen all my thoughts down now =(

Completed so much

Pretty happy today =) Because I’ve completed quite a lot of stuff..

UNAS YDS Gold

My UNAS Young Diploment Scheme Gold award! ^^ Spent around a week or so during June holidays last year to write around 7 essays.

It’s a pilot scheme anyway, so not much people turned up for the award ceremony.

But I had free breakfast =)

Then I had a haircut and went to school for Econs ILP rehearsal and compilation. We completed most of the presentation by now, leaving a final rehearsal next Tuesday.

And Hu Yuan brought his laptop plus an external keyboard to play a soccer game (because he said his bag is big and had nothing to put into)..

CrossRoads MylarOne X3i

Jun Jie, Hu Yuan and I later went to The Adelphi to visit Jaben Network and also to buy my CrossRoads Mylarone X3i <3

They are pretty cool lar, let you try out all their earphones and other products with your MP3 player. Plus 1-to-1 exchange of products within a minute if your current one is spoilt (like how Hu Yuan managed to change 4 to 5 times)

The sound quality is really good when I listened using it on my way home — I just can’t stand free earphones anymore, ever since my previous Creative EP630 spoilt =(

The cutie pouch (in the picture) was what I bought from Challenger. And we toured the whole Challenger in Funan =)

I found a good deal for my upcoming iPod classic in a Funan shop, which includes $42 iPod accessories voucher and a power adaptor. So I better buy it when the holidays come.

melody. – 遥花~はるか~

Haruka

Single: 遥花~はるか~ (Haruka)
Artist: melody.
Release Date: 13/2/08

Tracklist:

  1. 遥花~はるか~ (Haruka)
  2. プルメリア (Plumeria)
  3. That’s The Way It Is
  4. 遥花~はるか~ (Instrumental)

This is melody.’s 11th Single, released on February 13, 2008 and reached #10 on Oricon’s Weekly Charts. This is also her 1st single after her Ready to Go! album

1. 遥花~はるか~ (Haruka)

Ahhhh! It is my favourite song of this month ^^

A great ballad I would say, without much emphasis on the background music. However, the instrumental version is also worth listening, since you can listen to the background vocals in that version. The tune is simple but sweet in my opinion. But one thing that could be better was if it was filled with more emotions.

The promotional video is a bit abstract, but worth a watch =)

Overall comment: I simply love this emotional ballad!

Rating:
StarStarStarStarStar

2. プルメリア (Plumeria)

This B-side is a pretty nice fit for Haruka, since its another ballad, but with a more guitar acoustic tune. Background vocals play a more important role here, giving it much more variety in tune rather than just being plain acoustic.

Overall comment: Simple song but I would prefer listening to it after the A-side.

Rating:
StarStarStarStarBlank star

3. That’s The Way It Is

The 2nd B-side is a cover of Celine Dion’s song! I always liked Utada Hikaru, Yuna Ito and melody.’s English songs because they can deal with it well — most J-Pop singers can’t.

If you had listen to the original version, melody.’s cover would be much sweeter and pop-like. But in the end, I still preferred this over the original version..

Overall comment: Listen to both melody. and Celine Dion’s version and make a comparison! =D

Rating:

Final comment

I have always loved melody.’s ballads and this single just proved it much better. Though 3 songs are all ballads, they are all pretty well sang, even though their tunes may seem simple.

Even though my main reason for turning to J-Pop would be that their tunes are much more varied, experimental and synthetic, I eventually still love simple but emotional ballads the most ^^ Like Yui’s recent single which I will be doing an introduction of it soon =)

Let’s hope melody.’s next single would be a nice dance song!

To fight on..

3 more weeks.

2 whole days of SSEF presentation on the 10th week, with much preparation from tomorrow onwards.

Plus the upcoming Econs ILP presentation, Chem Common test to deal with.

Let’s hope I can continue moving on without any problem ^^ It’s only the 1st term..

But 1 thing I’m glad would be getting United Nations Association of Singapore Young Diplomat Scheme award this Saturday! That’s what you get for writing 7 humanities essays, spending only around 1 week during your June holidays last year =D

L Change the World

Change the World

Yay, finally got to watch this movie, with around 6 people from S6A and Yunheng crashing in..

Hmm, if you are a Death Note lover, you may not really like this. Because plot-wise, it is different from the original Death Note series. Its about being action-packed here, not wit and mystery you love in the original series. It is quite gory at certain parts, but I’m used to it anyway.

It started out pretty boring, with alternating scenes that seemed random, but the action starts to kick in when one of the major characters died. Overall, I wouldn’t give it a high rating like my favourite few movies, but it would be a good addition to the previous 2 movies =)

Later on, 6 of us went to play pool at Cuppage, and I’ve improved =)

And the funny part was when Judy, Woon Yang, Hu Yuan and I wanted to get something cheap for dinner, we turned out having Subway which cost $8.60 ._.

Next up would be Evangelion 1.0 (Rebuild tetralogy) and Koizora (starring Yui Aragaki) next month! ^^ But both will only be available at Cathay, and I recently found out Cathay has got quite a lot of Japanese movies =D

And maybe a 16gb Zen..

Valentine’s Day

It used to be nothing in high school, but its all so hyped up now.

Basically, its a day full of gives and takes =) Pressies and chocolates all around, haha.

Plushies

They were too cute to be true when I bought them, but I had to give them up eventually =(

Cookie

Here’s the cute cookie Xinyi gave me. I think I’m gonna eat it tonight =)

Rose

A cute plush toy rose from Wai Min

Large Pen

A large pen from my mortal Jeffrey

Rose

Handmade rose from Judy. Nice artcraft skills =)

Keychain

Yay, this is my favourite! A keychain from my angel Jacky =D

I think I haven’t received so much presents in a day so far in my life. Not even my birthday =/

Later on in the day, Hu Yuan, Jun Jie, Jonathan Tan and I played tennis for around 1.5 hours. Though we weren’t good at it, it was still very fun nonetheless. I think tennis has recently become the most popular sport in our class, haha.

Will be watching “L change the world” tomorrow too! Can’t wait to watch it ><

More outings!

Last Sunday was one of the best I had this year so far =)

Picnic @ Botanical Gardens

Botanical Gardens

Basically, my family and I, together with some cousins, went to Botanical Gardens for a picnic! Its like the first time in 5 years, haha. My aunt prepared quite a lot of food too =)

It was a pretty windy and sunny day then, so the atmosphere was great. Played frisbee with my cousins, but I was admiring the scenery for most of the time spent there. So I sat on the mat, “emo-ing” for at a few hours, hehe.

Class Outing @ Marina Square

This was more fun though, but only 11 people turned up, including our CT tutor, Miss Ong. We had a great but expensive lunch at Seoul Garden and it was fun playing with Tiantian’s Sony DSC-T200, which has really nice specs. But its around $649 here in Singapore, which is too much for me. It has many drawing functions and not to forget, the smile-shutter function that automatically takes a picture when the camera detects a smile (which is seriously cool). Too bad Tiantian hasn’t upload photos as of now, so I can’t post here =(

We moved on to play pool later, with a remainder of 8 people. I was pretty off-form then, because I haven’t played any pool since the holidays (where I used to play like once a week xD)

Now

Its the 7th week of Term 1. Time is passing so fast, which I don’t know whether it’s a good thing or not.

But something great is going to happen next week xD

Chinese New Year

Yep, its the Rat Year!

Eve

Definitely more fun than the celebration in High School =) Started off with some performances, but many in my class started to wander around the back and cam-whore or just chatting around.

Then, the much-awaited class-stall started! Our cakes looked nice and cheap ($1 only) and we managed to earn around $40+ by the end of the funfair. Not sure whether we profited but I think it was at least a break-even. But I was just wandering around buying food during the funfair though — Got a cup of Bubble Tea, Nachos, Prata and free Muah Chee from Hwa Pheng = Super full.

Next up was 3 plates of Yu-sheng which we made a mess out of it =D

The celebration ended off with some dances which I almost completely forgotten, then I went off to High School with some friends. Only managed to see Mr Vincent Tan, Miss Sandra Tan and Mdm Chan =(

Day 1

Started off with a steamboat in the morning at my Grandma’s house, plus lots of abalone =)

Then I went back home and watched a 2-hour “Nodame Cantabile Shinshun Special in Europe”! <3 Been waiting for this special episode for long, because everything is so comical here. Not to forget the great classical music performed throughout the drama. And I so wanna watch the 2nd special episode..

My family and I then went for an Omni-theatre show at Science Centre, because its so near my house, haha. The show was about hurricanes and wetland preservation, but what I liked was the super big screen. If only I could watch Lord of the Rings in Omni-theatre — that would be super cool.

Next up was more food (Pizza, Sushi & Steamboat again) at my maternal Grandma house. I think the amount of angbao money she gave me was 5 times more than the rest I’ve gotten so far =)

Day 2

It wasn’t much of a blast till I went to Vivocity to watch CJ7. Didn’t expect much out of it initially, but it turned out very comical (and emotional at parts). Though not exactly memorable, but it’s still worth a watch if you just want to have a good time laughing. I wished I had that alien cutie in the movie, haha.

Aww, I can’t wait to watch the Death Note Spin-off: L change the world..

And I’ve been trying out Adobe Soundbooth CS3 during the remaining time at home. Though not as powerful as Sound Forge, but its just enough for me to do simple editing and file conversions..

Day 3

I shouldn’t even be writing this, but I’m just stuck at home with redox questions..

But luckily, there is tomorrow’s class outing to look forward to.. Seoul Garden!!

Its New Year’s Eve tomorrow

Wow, I haven’t blog for almost a week, which is quite a record =D

As the title goes, I’m wishing everybody a Happy New Year in advance! =)

My class was like one of the first few who started decorating our class benches. Hu Yuan, Jun Jie, Judy, Jon Tay and I went all the way to Jurong West last Thursday to get some decorative items, like mini-lanterns, pink flowers and such. Started decorating on Friday and I thought it looked pretty nice! Though our bench is still pretty empty, we just hanged the stuff we bought by the side of our bench..

Rushed Did the Econs Independent Learning Project on Saturday, which was basically a compilation of the sections contributed by my group members and a graph I added on some time near midnight. We thought our report with 1 diagram was ok, until the wonderful Econs lecture on Monday. For those in Auditorium, you would have known about that self-drama that occured, which is like 自导自演. I seriously don’t know who would have bothered =P

Went for Ne2twork again today, which was mainly discussion of the banner and poster design. Though my group did nothing (Adrian, you better read this).. Moving on to some learning project soon and a banner design by next Tuesday, hehe. I think I’m going to stay in Ne2twork, but I should be trying out others in case I change my mind =)

Took me an hour or so to get my new phone, Nokia 6500 Slide, last Sunday. It looks pretty ok for me, but specifications wise, its still a 3.2 Megapixel camera with a screen that is 0.2″ smaller than my previous N73. At least I can sync my contacts with Vista Contacts now, but I’m stuck with a 256mb MicroSD card =(

I got so cheesed off when I saw Choon Chuan’s N82 today. Its like 5 Megapixel camera with 2Gb memory, and I was wondering why I didn’t see this phone at all.. Though the down-side is that it is expensive and has a lousy design.

As for my cough, it was much better when I started taking Chinese medicines (though its yucky), though not fully recovered yet.

I think I passed my cough (and slight sore throat) to Jon Tay. So sorry! =(
